Dr. Huhn

Michael Huhn is a German Patent Attorney (Patentanwalt) and a European Patent Attorney.

Michael studied Chemistry at the Aachen Technical Institute (RWTH Aachen), where he graduated in 1988 and obtained his Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat.) in 1990, specializing in organometallic chemistry and catalysis. He has been a post-doc fellow in Strasbourg and in Tolouse, both in France, where he conducted research in the field of catalysis.

Returning to Germany in 1992, Michael joined the law firm of Hann, Sternagel, Dörries in Bergisch Gladbach (Cologne area) and started working in Intellectual Property. He qualified as a German and European Patent Attorney. Michael was active for Byk Gulden (now Nycomed) in the Omeprazol/Pantoprazol case against Astra Pharma (now AstraZeneca), before joining Firmenich SA in Geneva, Switzerland, one of the world's most reputable companies in the field of flavors and fragrances, working as in-house counsel.

Michael left Switzerland in 1999 and joined the Mannheim office of Bardehle. He was one of the founders of Isenbruck Bösl Hörschler Wichmann Huhn in 2003, which he left in 2009 to found his own law firm.

Michael is familiar with all patent matters, including portfolio management and strategy, litigation, licenses and technology transfer, and conducting due diligences. He has particular knowledge and experience in the field of chemistry and biochemistry, pharmacy and diagnostics and related areas.

Michael is a German national. He is fluent in German, English and French and has a sound knowledge of the Dutch language. He is looks forward to talking with you!

He is active in the Licensing Executive Society LES, where he heads a work group on technology transfer (FIT group) within LES Germany.

Michael has published articles and gives lectures.
