Oliver Gödden is a german patent attorney in the law firm. He studied biology at the Universität Konstanz and the University of East Anglia in Norwich, UK, specializing in molecular biology, microbiology and biochemistry. He graduated in 2003 and received his Ph. D. (Dr. rer. Nat.) in 2011. During his year in Norwich he undertook a research project in plant virology at the John Innes Centre. After finishing his studies Oliver Gödden worked as a scientist at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research in Leipzig. He conducted research on molecular methods for the detection of microorganisms in organically contaminated groundwater environments.

Oliver Gödden started working in Intellectual Property in 2008 and qualified as a patent attorney (Patentanwalt) in 2011. His practical experience includes the drafting of German and European patent applications, especially in the fields of in vitro diagnostics and cancer research. Moreover, he was involved in the prosecution of patents before the European Patent Office and the USPTO and opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office.
